What is a veletaris storm section?

Usually forming part of the Solar Auxilia ’s Infantry Tercios, Veletaris Storm Sections also served as the Household Retinue of Commanders and Lord Marshals. When doing so they often bear ceremonial power axes which, whilst finely wrought, are suitably deadly in battle.

What kind of Wargear does the Solar Auxilia use?

The Solar Auxilia is known for their distinctive wargear, the most iconic being their void armour. This is a carapace-reinforced, full environmental combat body armour with a fully integrated life support unit.

The Solar Auxilia are a corps of Auxiliaries that have been inducted into the traditions of the Imperial Fists. They are native to that Legion's home world and wear the honour livery of one of their cohorts.

What weapons do solar aux use?

If you do, there’s a good selection of close combat weapons – a powerfist and two swords which fit a number of different sword options the unit can take and a cracking axe. These are largely different poses from the Rifle section, so with a bit of a hand swap you’re opening up a lot of options for your Solar Aux leaders.

Led by a Veletari Prime, Veletaris Sections had a lion icon on their badges. They were often gathered into special cohort-level reserves which served as their commander's household guard under their direct command, or were raised on a company-by-company basis.

What sprue should I use if I go full solar aux?

It’s a good sprue and, once again, if you’re going to go full Solar Aux you’re going to see a lot of it. The axes and volkites come on their own sprue, leaving bodies, legs and armour on the “core” Veletaris sprue.
