When the sun doesn’t shine or the wind doesn’t blow, SRP must rely on traditional energy sources and batteries to meet demand. This blend of renewable and traditional energy sources ensures a reliable power supply for our customers.

How does SRP work?

For customers who generate most of their own energy. Any excess energy you generate will be instantly exported by SRP and credited to your bill at a fixed price of 2.81 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). It’s advantageous for these customers to shift their energy use to the middle of the day, when their system is generating the most energy.

What is SRP doing to make solar energy more sustainable?

SRP is committed to a more sustainable future and is developing renewable resources, including utility-scale solar projects.
